The Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee is a not-for-profit educational organization comprised entirely of volunteers who organize and host an annual insurance fraud education conference. This notice explains the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee’s (FIFEC) policy regarding the personal information we collect and store and your rights in relation to it.

What Type of Information Does FIFEC Collect?
FIFEC receives, collects and stores any information you enter on our website through form submissions (Award nominations; Exhibitor, Sponsor & Speaker applications; Grant applications and Conference Registration). Information collected through website forms includes the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet; as well as some personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, your phone numbers, your business name, professional title, your email address and in some instances, the last four digits of your payment credit card. FIFEC does not collect nor store any social security numbers or birth dates.

Why Does FIFEC Collect This Data?
FIFEC collects Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:
1. To plan, promote, communicate information and operate our annual educational conference;
2. To provide our website users and registrants with customer assistance;
3. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information, for understanding conference registrant data.
4. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

How Does FIFEC Collect, Store, Share And Disclose Your Personal Information?
Conference attendee registration is collected via RSVP. Credit card payments for conference registration are processed through Stripe. Credit card data for Exhibitor pre-payment is processed through PayPal. The data processed through PayPal and Stripe is collected through an encrypted connection and stored on their secure served behind a firewall.
The data you provide through online forms such as our Call for Presentation, Co-Presenter Application or Awards Nominations are collected by Email Me Form (www.emailmeform.com) through an encrypted connection. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
Our website allows us to provide conference information to you. It is hosted through Site5 (www.site5.com) and is enhanced by secure socket layer (SSL) protection. This security ensures the data you send to or receive from the website is private. FIFEC does not use software tools to measure and collect session information about your website visits. However that information is available to the webmaster through website statistic tools.
It is important to note that even with all of these measures, internet transmissions cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We assure you that we will notify you promptly in the event of any breach of your personal data which might expose you to serious risk.

Your Personal Data Will Not Be Transferred Without Your Consent.
The data we receive from you is never sold to any third parties. FIFEC provides conference attendees the option of including their contact information on a list of annual conference attendees that is distributed to other conference attendees, who have also agreed to share their information, as well as conference exhibitors and sponsors. Occasionally, course instructors may request a list of registered attendees for the course(s) they taught. A list of consenting course registrants may be shared with those instructors.
If the conference registrant opted not to share their contact information, they will not be included in the annual conference attendee list that is distributed, nor will they receive a copy of the list. Law enforcement personnel, state & federal prosecutors are always removed from this shared list.

How Long Do We Store Your Information?
Your information will be maintained in our systems for the purpose of providing you with annual FIFEC conference information. We will also maintain your personal data as required by law or Florida administrative codes.
We will review your personal data annually to determine if we are still entitled to process it. If we determine there is no longer a need, we will stop processing your personal data but may retain it in archival form to comply with future legal obligations such as the exercise or defense of legal claims and actions, tax requirements and exemptions as examples.

EU citizens will be interested to know that their personal data that is voluntarily provided to FIFEC is used for the purposes of facilitating their registration and attendance at the FIFEC annual conference, obtaining educational credits when available, and achieving the educational goals of FIFEC; and is not used for other purposes that are not approved by FIFEC. Individuals protected under GDPR may:

• obtain copies of personal data that an organization holds on them;
