NMVTIS (National Motor Vehicle Title Information System) Presentation

NMVTIS was established under the Anti-Car Theft Acts of 1992 and 1996. It was created to deter trafficking in stolen vehicles and prevent vehicle frauds by linking DMV databases. NMVTIS also protects consumers and companies by requiring that Junk, Salvage, or Insurance (JSI) vehicles are reported. Additionally, NMVTIS requirements are contained in several Florida statutes.
