This course will cover an introduction with case law updates focusing on recent DCA cases that effect various PIP-related issues. Next, the course will delve into specific issues and trends in PIP that are ongoing and affecting the industry as a whole with discussion of new case law, including many at the county court level. The course will also discuss and highlight how recent case law updates can be utilized for developing strategy.

Natural disasters and geography make Florida one of the most challenging property insurance markets in the world. Human disasters, fraud and deceptive practices, make it one of the most unpredictable and expensive property insurance markets in the world. Florida's legislature and courts have taken actions over the last year to confront these issues.

Our presentation will focus on identifying fraudulent glass claims, investigative tools and techniques that can/should be utilized to defend against such fraudulent claims, and the litigation strategies that have proven to be successful. We will also share testimony of ex-employees who have testified as to the fraudulent and deceptive business practices utilized by glass companies. And, in addition, we will share testimony of insured's who provide a first-hand account of the fraud committed by the glass companies. We will explain how to utilize such testimony to best serve the insurance company.
